Il successo conseguito nel censimento americano fece si che le macchine di Hollerith fossero immediatamente impiegate anche nei censimenti austriaco e norvegese e nel primo censimento della storia russa, tenutosi nel 1896. Dal 1890 al 1925 una ventina di paesi, dalla Gran Bretagna all'Egitto, dal Portogallo all'Australia, impiegano macchine tabulatricI per i loro censimenti.
